The Smith Street Band
I’ve been following The Smith Street Band as they tour their album, ‘Throw Me In The River’ and prepare their following album, ‘More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me’. The photos in this project were taken across Australia.
The Smith Street Band are a Melbourne rock band signed to Pool House Records. Like Dune Rats, they own the Pool House Records label. They even throw an annual Pool House Party music festival where WAAX, Press Club and Ceres played in 2018 at Coburg Velodrome. Smith Street Band had success in Triple J’s Hottest 100 in 2018.

Smith Street Band tours
I’ve been on a fair few Smith Street Band tours and a heap of festivals. I’m not sure what my favourite tour was, but the Death To The Lads tour was pretty memorable. As was the album launch tour for More Scared Of You Than You Are Of Me, which saw Smith Street Band’s production go to a whole new level from the South East Facing Wall or No One Gets Lost days.
Smith Street Band merch
I have so many Smith Street Band t-shirts. They have always been so generous with sharing their merchandise with me when I’m shooting a show. My favourite and most worn shirts are the Sinclair Young Drunk tee and the Navy Blue Moon tee.
Recommended Smith Street Band songs
My three favourite Smith Street Band songs, in no particular order, are:
Wipe That Shit Eating Grin Off Your Punchable Face
Laughing (Or Pretending To Laugh)
It’s Alright, I Understand
