Anvil are one of those bands that set the standard for that promise most celebrities give of ‘playing until you can’t play no more’. Their fans were wearing shirts that said they had been playing for 37 years, which was super impressive. Between all the songs, Anvil told anecdotes about conversations with Ronnie Dio, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. These parts were really entertaining since metal isn’t my primary genre of choice when it comes to listening to music.

I heard about Anvil when I watched the 2008 movie documentary, Anvil: The Story of Anvil, which showed the cost some bands pay to continue with their passion. The movie is still one of my favourite documentaries and is up there with Metallica’s Some Kind Of Monster movie.
